Trapezoid

A convex quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides is referred to as a trapezoid. The parallel sides are called the bases of the trapezoid and the other two sides are called the legs or the lateral sides.

Formulae used

h = height of trapezoid
a = side-1 of trapezoid
b = side-2 of trapezoid
c = breadth-1 of trapezoid
d = breadth-2 of trapezoid


\[Perimeter \: of\: trapezoid = a + b + c + d \]

\[Height \: (altitude) = \frac{2a}{a+b} \]

\[Area \: of\: trapezoid = h\left ( \frac{a + b}{2} \right ) \]

\[median (m) = \frac{(a + b)}{2} \]

\[Area \: from \: median = mh \]

\[Base\: length\: from\: area = \frac{2a}{h} - b \]

\[side-1(a) = \frac{2area + h*base }{2+h} \]

\[side-1(b) = 2m - a \]
