Calculations based on percentage - depreciation for machine

percentage - depreciation for machine

Depreciation is the estimated loss in value due to its loss in value of an asset.  This may be due to economic obsolescence, functional obsolescence, or physical deterioration, or a combination of them all.

Let the present value of a machine be P . Suppose it depreciates at the rate of R% per annum . Then

\[value\: of \: the\: machine \: after \: n\: years = P\left ( 1 - \frac{R}{100} \right )^{n} \]

\[value\: of \: the\: machine \: n\: years\: ago = \frac{P}{\left ( 1 - \frac{R}{100} \right )^{n}} \]

Calculating value of the machine

Formula : value of machine after n years = P(1 - R/100)n
