Distance Formula

The Distance Formula is derived from the Pythagorean theorem. To find the distance between two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2), all that you need to do is use the coordinates of these ordered pairs and apply the formula given below.

Let point A=(x1,y1) and point B=(x2,y2)

The distance between the points AB is given by

(x2x1)2+(y2y1)2

For calculation purpose, take x2=a, x1=b, y2=c, y1=d

Distance of point A from Origin

x2+y2
x2+y2
