Distance Formula

The Distance Formula is derived from the Pythagorean theorem. To find the distance between two points (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂), all that you need to do is use the coordinates of these ordered pairs and apply the formula given below.

Let point A=(x_1,y₁) and point B=(x_2,y₂)

The distance between the points AB is given by

(x2$$\sqrt{(x_2-x_1{)}^2+(y_2-y_1{)}^2}$$

$$\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-{y_{1}})^{2}}$$

For calculation purpose, take x₂=a, x₁=b, y₂=c, y₁​=d

Distance of point A from Origin

x2+y2−−−−−−√$$\sqrt{x^2+y^2}$$

$$\sqrt{x^{2}+y^{2}}$$
