Describe the World Food India inaugurated in the country's capital New Delhi? And also describe how it was beneficial for youth Employment?

The World Food India, 2017 was inaugurated in New Delhi on 3rd November, 2017 by Prime minister if India. It was held at the ' India Gate ' premises between 3rd November and 5th November. This three-day event was made by the Ministry of Food processing Industry of the Government of India.

  • The theme of ' World Food India, 2017 ' was the ' Changing Food Economy 'or (Transforming the Food economy').
  • The ' World Food India, 2017 ' was joined by Japan, Germany and Denmark as partner country of India.
  • The purpose of ' World Food India, 2017 ' is to establish the ' hub ' of the global Food processing industry (HUB) by bringing the desired changes to India's food economy. Also, the aim is to establish India as the world's premier investment destination in the food processing sector so as to promote foreign investment in the country.
  • By the advent of foreign investment in the food processing sector, not only will it help to empower the sector but also help in creating innovative opportunities for employment. It will also help increase farmers ' income by the year 2022, as the food processing sector is directly linked to the agriculture sector.
  • This was the first occasion when it was organized by India in relation to the food processing sector. The event was attended by representatives of major food companies worldwide and the CEOs of food processing companies located in 29 states of India.
  • More than 800 companies from 22 countries, in addition to India's domestic companies, have partnered in this event. The Indian government's aim behind the event is to generate 10 billion $of investment in the food processing sector in the coming three years to create more than 10 lakh employment opportunities.

Remarkably, the goal of establishing only India as the hub for food processing sector has not been set under ' World Food India, 2017 ' but also includes a goal to strengthen the country's food security.
