Right to Privacy has been declared by the Supreme Court as a fundamental right. Right to privacy is believed to have been contained in Article 21 of the Indian Constitution.

Recent events related to data theft in the country:
- Recently, many incidents of leakage of confidential information of Aadhaar card holders have come up, which prove that the information taken under the Aadhaar card can be misused.
- Using the information of their Aadhaar card without the permission of the people through Airtel, the banks were opened open. Airtel was also penalized by UIDAI in this regard.
- Recently, such incidents have emerged, under which the thieves steal information of people's cards and transfer money from their accounts.
- In the year 2016 and 2017 many government websites repeatedly posted their names, addresses and phone numbers along with the number of people.
- Recently, a sting was conducted by the Tribune newspaper, showing how to reach only 1 billion base accounts with just Rs 500. Similarly, if Rs 300 is spent and spent, then the software can be acquired so that any person can print the Aadhaar card.
Steps for proper security of data:
- Data is the most important in this age of internet. This is the reason that the system should be tightly set up to protect the data. The effort of the Central Government in this regard is commendable.
- It is known that a committee has been constituted by the Central Government under the chairmanship of the law related to the protection of data.
- Right to privacy must be amended to include in Article 21 of Indian Constitution so that it can get a constitutional basis.
