After Independence, the biggest challenge before India was to tackle the challenges of extreme poverty and illiteracy and to make the country move forward on the path of progress. Prior to the establishment of the British rule, there was a prosperous prosperity in India, but the policies of the British government sucked the blood of the country and pushed most of the people into poverty and hunger status.
- The Government of Independent India deeply understood these problems and implemented the corresponding policies and programs but their results were not very pleasant. Due to acute poverty in Naxalite area of West Bengal, farmers and tribal’s raised weapons against big landowners. This time steeped in acute poverty, took the form of the Naxalite movement. It is known that at present, many states of the country are facing the problem of Naxalism.
- Actually, due to poverty, it is not able to fulfill the basic needs of living a human life, due to which proper development of his personality does not occur. It is very easy to get rid of people with such imperfect personality, because of which these people come under the guise of terrorists and criminals and become oriented towards crime.
- Education is seriously affected due to poverty. Due to lack of education, man does not have any other way than to do labor. Since there is no special skill in the less educated or uneducated people, these people are employed only in the form of low-level jobs, such as workers and laborers.
- Since these workers and laborers themselves are uneducated, most of them do not know the importance of education. Being unfamiliar with the importance of education, these people do not pay much attention to the education of their children. Many people also try to send children to work.
- This is largely responsible for the growing problem of child labor in the country. Due to poverty, many children become oriented towards crime. In today's time, many such gangs are active in metropolitan cities, who take advantage of the poverty of children and employ them in such tasks as beggary, theft etc.
- These children gradually get trapped in the filthy world of crime and become transformed into organized crime. Organized crime refers to crime committed in the group.
- Due to poverty, when there is no source of livelihood in front of women and children, they have to be forced into prostitution such as forced labor. Thus, we see how poverty creates violence and crime.
- Revolution has been created due to poverty, on global scale. Revolutionary events such as the Revolution of the French, the American Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and the Arab Spring originated due to poverty and they took on a wider form.
- In France, autocratic monarchy and feudalism had trapped the general public in the swamp of poverty. Due to this poverty, the public adopted the path of rebellion and the emergence of the French Revolution of 1789. Similarly, the United States continued to be exploited continually against which the American people were organized in the north and ended the power of Britain through the revolution.
- Poverty was also responsible for Russia's revolution. Due to the autocratic rule of jar and the wrong policies, the general public was stricken. Eventually Lenin organized the revolution by mobilizing this troubled masses.
- In the context of India, even after the revolution of 1857 AD, poverty and exploitation have been particularly liable. The British Geo-Revenue policy, trade policy and the disintegration and the runoff of money had transformed India, known as gold-finch, into a poorer and famine country.
- People suffering from poverty were stammering for revolt. Thus a pile of ammunition was ready for the revolution, the need was a spark. The revolt of the soldiers did the work of spark and the revolution was born.
- The Arab Spring, formed in the Arabian region, has recently taken the whole West Asian region to its grave. The Arab Spring began with Tunisia. The person who used to hurl in Tunisia was harassed every day. This was done illegally by the police. The name of this person was Muhammad Buajiji. One day this person was fed up with self-sufficiency. Although Muhammad Buajiji was burnt, yet he had ignited the flames of revolution in the Arab region. Ben Ali's dictatorship ruled Tunisia in Tunisia and the fire spread to other countries, due to which Hosni Mubarak of Egypt had to lose power.
Journalist in connection with crime Hussein Zaidi says-
"If the necessity is the mother of invention, then poverty (poverty) is also the father of crime."
Under Hussein Zaidi, the mafia war that started in Mumbai in the 1980s, there was poverty spread in Mumbai's slum area. On the basis of these examples and analysis, we can say that poverty is the main reason behind criminal activities and revolution. There will be a concerted effort to eradicate this poverty. We have to provide skill training to the people and provide easy loan facility for self employment. Simultaneously, farmers and villagers have to provide easy marketing opportunity so that they can get the right value of their products. Most of all, we have to focus on women of the country and motivate them for self-employment. If we make a woman financially strong then she will take her family firmly in the right direction. Such families will also have excellent education and also positive development of children's personality. If this could be done then we would definitely be able to create poverty-free prosperous India and the world.
