E waste

Electronic waste are simply known as E scarp or E waste, is a trash that generates from surplus, broken and obsolete electronic devices. Electronics contain various toxic and hazardous chemical and materials that released into environment if we do not dispose them properly.

E waste is popular and informal name of electronic products nearing the end of there "usual life".computer, television, VCRs, copier are common electronic products.many these products can be reused, recycled.

The most common hazardous electronic items are LCD television, LCD desktop monitors, plasma television, and computer with cathode ray tubes . Each waste contain hundreds of substances of which many are toxic. This includes Mercury, cadmium, arsenic , chromium and flame retardants

The air pollution impact of e waste:

Burning e waste can used as a disposal method but can also be way to get valuable metal such as copper. The problem in this method is burning also release pollution into air .

Types in e waste: 

  • Type 1: major appliances( refrigerator, washing machine., etc)
  • Type 2: small appliances( vacuum cleaner, etc)
  • Type 3: computer and telecommunications( laptop)
  • Tyler 4: consumer electronics( video and audio equipment)
  • Type 5: lightening devices(  incandescent light bulbs)
  • Type 6: electrical and electronic tools ( drills, saws, etc)
  • Type 7: toys and leisure( electronic toys, models)
  • Type 8: medical devices( all medical equipments) 
  • Type 9: monitoring devices( detectors)
  • Type 10: vending machine

      E waste connected health risk may results from direct contact with harmful material such as lead, cadmium, chromium etc...from inhalation of toxic fumes as well as accumulation of chemicals in soil, water and food.
