A bomb cyclone is also known as a "bomb genesis" which comes from combining "bomb" with "cyclone genesis”. To non-meteorologists, this means storm formation. A storm undergoes bomb genesis when its central low pressure drops at least 24 millibars in 24 hours. They occur when a rising column of air leaves an area of low pressure at the Earth's surface which then sucks in the air from surrounding areas. When this air converges, the storm spins faster and faster. The often deadly winds are stronger the closer you are to the centre.
Reasons: Global warming-
Warming Arctic and the loss of Arctic sea ice lasting through the summer is changing the behavior of the jet stream in a way that contributes to both the heat waves and drought in the western half of the North America and the Arctic break-outs of cold air afflicting the eastern half.
Weather Bomb or Bomb Cyclones –
Strong Winter storm hitting eastern coast with ice, snow and strong winds, is one of the major reasons of extremely cold weather conditions in North America.
Northeaster-
These winter weather events are notorious for producing heavy snow, rain, and tremendous waves that crash onto Atlantic beaches, often causing beach erosion and structural damage.

The weight of the air above the surface of the earth creates air pressure. Among the two pressure systems, the low pressure system has low pressure of winds at its centre than the areas around it. Winds blow towards the low pressure, and the air rises upwards in the atmosphere. As the winds converge in the area, they rotate in the same direction as that of the earth, i.e., in anti-clockwise direction and forms a cyclone in the centre of the region.
Millibar - A unit of measurement to describe pressure. The lower the pressure drops within a cyclone, the more intense the storm is.
And, the term bombing occurs when a low pressure system's central pressure drops 24 millibars in 24 hours or less. It is a huge drop in pressure according to meteorologists. That's how, the term Bomb Cyclone is coined out.
The drastic changes in the climate in eastern parts of North America are the various factors such as explosive cyclone genesis, global warming etc. As the global warming is a reason of rise in sea level in America.
