The growing turmoil in kashmir has again brought the issue of azzadi or autonomy on forefront. However, there is need to understand
that here AZAADI does not mean independence but it asks for autonomy on the basis of which instrument of accession was signed. Kashmir issue is one of the issues which were projected before newborn India in 1947 itself. It has been almost 70 years, this issue is still the main challenge before India in term of sovereignty, integrity, and security of India.
1 Threat to article 35 A and 370 has created suspicion in mind of people. Both these are basis for the autonomy , hence the cry for azzadi is just to bring the attention of country on this issue
2 The kashmiris want to live without oppressive restrictions , indiscriminate use of AFSPA has led to harrassment . The state govt is dishonouring AOG ( AGENDA OF GOVERNANCE) , which talks about the review of necessity of AFSPA and protection of art 370.
3 After 1953 , presidential orders reduced state autonomy, in 1965 nomenclature of elected and nominal head changed. Even though they accept jurisdiction of supreme court and Election commission, kashmiris want their autonomy back.
NEED FOR AUTONOMY
1 There is need to give assurance to kashmiris that we respect their history, religion and culture . It will bring peace
2 There is no problem in letting them frame their laws as long as it doesn't conflict with constitution
3 Also continuous deployment tires out the troops and slows down responses in case of exigencies
CONCLUSION;AS STATED BY PM, KASHMIR PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED ONLY THROUGH EMBRACE NOT BULLETS. IT IS FOR THE GOVT TO IDENTIFY LEADERS WHO CAN REPRESENT KASHMIRIS AND INITIATES THE PROCESS OF DIALOUGE. IN A NUTSHELL, WE CAN SAY THAT " AUTONOMY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF OUR CONSTITUTION IS AN INSIGNIFICANT PRICE TO PAY FOR BONDING OUR NATION "
