Physical quatities are measured in four system of units as
- CGS (Centimetre, Gram, Second)
- FPS (Foot, Pound, Second)
- MKS (Metre, Kilogram, Second)
- SI system (International System of Units)
Fundamental Quantities
- The physical quentities which are independent to each other are called fundamental quantities and their units are called fundamental units.
- The most accepted one is SI system which was adopted in 1971 by conference of weights and measures held in Geneva.
- There are seven fundamental quantities in SI system

There are also two suplementary fundamental units in Si system.
- Radian (rad) it is unit of plane angle.
- Steradian (sr) It is unit of solid angle.
