USA new Afghanistan policy directly called for India's active participation in the redevelopment of Afghanistan so that it can emerge as a secure, stable, peaceful, prosperous, united and inclusive country. India has remained actively engaged in Afghanistan’s economic and Infrastructural development since 2001 by contributing over $2 billion in aid.
DEVELOPMENT
India and Afghanistan has 116 new high impact developmental projects which will be implemented jointly.
*Shatoot dam and drinking water supply project in Kabul.
*Low cost housing for returning refugees.
*A polyclinic in Mazar-e-sharif.
*construction of Salma dam, TAPI gas pipelines, Afghanistan parliament.
*Human resource capacity and skill development in education, health, agriculture, energy, space technology
*Vehicular movement to boost overland transit between Both the countries
*India to transport to Afghanistan by sea through Chabahar port in Iran.
*zaranj Delaram highway in Afghanistan
*Air freight corridor
SECURITY MEASURES
A) Training of Afganistsn police and army in India.
B) Providing weapons and mi-23 helicopters.
C) Sharing technology on defense.
MILITARY SUPPORT
India is NOT actively participating in the military front of Afghanistan. Because
A) Financial burden on India
B) Direct help in military will lead to direct step against Taliban, threat to India's security
C) It may instigate China-Pakistan relationship to go against India-Afghanistan partnership
D) USA is directly involved in the fight against Taliban. So India should refrain from the path and look into development matters.
E) It will affect India's image in international geo politics again after Doklam standoff. India got huge criticism in interfering Bhutan's politics in Doklam issue with china.
INDIA SHOULD INVOLVE IN MILITARY
A) India's Motto is to fight against terrorism. So with the help of USA, India can participate in military action in Afghanistan.
B) India's active participation will be a threat call for Pakistan on terrorist issue.
C) India should act independently in Afghanistan. Not by the role prescribed by USA.
D) India should act on Afghanistan’s request of their needs.
