PANDIT JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU AND SARDAR PATEL WERE STAUNCH NATIONALISTS.WHAT WAS THE MAIN CONTRIBUTION OF BOTH LEADERS FOR INDIA?

CONTRIBUTION OF NEHRU

 He first declared the Indian Independence on 26 January 1929 to mark the launch of open fight against British.Hence aspirant of democratic India.
-His aspiration of democracy attracted him to USSR's socialist agenda.
-He was very keen to build nation over laying foundation of natural rights - civil rights,political rights,etc.
-His Idea of bringing 3rd party UN in Kashmir matter- proves that he believe in world's highest democratic institution.
-He was such a democratic that at international level he took stand in protecting the interest of nascent/weak countries in era of cold 
war by concept of NAM and Panchsheel.

CONTRIBUTION OF SARDAR PATEL

-His remarkable contribution in Bardoli Satyagrah,.
-His unique contribution in unifying India after bringing 550 princely states under common umbrella.
-Highly expertise in Gandhi's non-violence concept and implemented while consolidation except Hyderabad case.
-He was so practical that he wanted to avoid the incorporation of Kashmir as he knew that it would create long term issue.
-He was the first who realised the need of All INDIA SERVICES to maintain the unity and integrity of India- that's why after such difficult consolidations it has never broken into smaller states and strengthening day by day eg.-GST.

 CONCLUSION:Nehru and Sardar came to divergent thought many time but never let their conflict to overcome their common agenda of 'India First'. Hence both characters were indispensable for the Nation Building , and it is because of them we saw today a moderned India.
