HUMAYUN (A.D 1530-40, 1555-56) Part-1
Humayun was born on 6th March, 1508 A.D in Kabul. He was son of Babur and Mahim Ananga Begum (Maham Sultana). Humayun sat on the Delhi throne after the death of Babur.
He had to live nearly 15 years in exile after 10 years of rule. He regained the Delhi throne in 1555 A.D.
He was still working on the safety of his kingdom when one day while he was descaling the stairs of his library 'Deenpanah' he fell from them.
He died on 21Jan, 1556 because of serve blow to his head.
Main events during his reign :-
Victory over Kalinjar (1531)
Kalinjar's ruler was Pratap Rudradev. He had compassion for afghans. Afghans were violent enemy of Humayun. Due to this year only that they might not combine with Pratap Rudradev and attack him. In 1531 he attacked on Kalinjar and won it.
Battle of Doharia (1532)
Afghan army and Humayun battled at a place named Doharia. Afghans lost this battle and Sher Shah separated with Mohmood Lodhi.
Conflicts with Bahadur Shah (1535-36)
When Bahudur shah (ruler of Gujarat) tried to extend the boundaries of his empire. Humayun saw it a threat saw it a threat to himself and his empire. So Humayun fought with him and won.
