Yeast is an unicellular fungu-According to five kingdom classification, it should be placed in protisa. But exceptionally it is placed in mycota because itsi life cycle is simikar to class Ascomycetes. Yeast grows on ripened fruits lije grapes,sugarcane, date palm and flowers. Mycelium is absent in yeast. If yeast is dissolved in sugar solutions then pseudomycelium is formed. Because inisugar solutions, it grows very fast.
