Shah-Jahan (1627-1658)

  • Born to Jodhabai or Jagat Gosain in Lahore in 1592. His real name was Khurram. He was youngest prince to be appointed as Governor of Deccan at the age of 15. After the death of Jahangir in 1627 AD he killed all his brothers and all the opponent of throne and in the end he also killed dawar Baksh and ascended the throne of Agra in 24 Feb. 1628 Dawar Baksh was son of Khusro.
  • In AD 1612, he got married to Arjamand Bano Begum (known as Mumtaz Mahal daughter of Asaf Khan. In 1631 AD she died during labour pains. Taj Mahal was made under the memory of Mumtaz Mahal.
  • He died in 1666 AD and he was buried at Tajmahal near her wife's grave by ordinary sevents.
