Rebellion During Shahjahan (1627-1658)

  • First rebellion was done by Bundela Sardar Jajhar Singh in 1628 AD. So first army expendtion was done against Bundele of Bundelkhand.
  • Second rebellion against Shahjahan was done by Khan Johar Lodhi.
  • Mughals rulers gave monopoly of salt business to Portguess. But due to perversity of Portuguese Shahjahan surrounded their business point hugli and captured it.
  • One eagle of Shahjahan had favour in the company Guru Hargovbind and Guru refused to give it back which was the causes of conflict between them.
  • Shahjahan followed the territorial policy of Akbar & Jahangir. Apart, than this Southern India was conservation center for appositioners. During Shahjahan's rule many expendtion were sent to South India.
  • Shahjahan under the supervision of Mahawat Khan attacked Ahmad Nagar and in 1633 he captured Ahmad Nagar and merged it in Mughal territory and the lap nizam Shahi sultan Husain shah was defeated in Gwalior Fort.
  • Shahjahan pressured Gol Kundalini after winning Ahmad Nagar. In 1636 AD Golkunda did a treaty with Mughals.
  • Shahjahan attacked on Bijapur in 1636 AD and he compelled Mohd. Adil Shah 1 for a treaty according to which he had to pay 20 lakh to Shahjahan as revenue.
