  • In 1661, the Portguess king gave Bombay to Charles I of England as dowry, for marrying his sister.
  • First Portguess Factory was established at Calicut.
  • Portguess took authorization from Akbar and Jahangir and made factories at Hugh.
  • The abandoned the Arbian ships without permit according to the rule of "Kartz-Amarda".
  • The "Guathik Architecture art" came into existence. First scientific granth related to Ayurveda was published in 1563 at Goa.
  • Due to their religious intolerance and secret business they collapsed.
  • The famous Jusuit Sait, Francisco Xavier arrived in India with Alfonso de Souza (1542-45).
  • Gradually, almost all of their territories were lost to Marathas (Salsett and Bassin in 1739), Dutch and English. Only Goa, Diu and Dhaman remained with them until 1961.
