Advent of the English
In 1600 AD, British East India Company , was estamblished which got it's consent letter to business for 15 years by Queen Elizabeth-1 (Britain).
In 1608 AD Captain Hawkins reached Surat and Jahangir had gone to Agra to meet Mughals Emperor.
Jahangir gave Hawkins 400 mansabs and Jagir but Portguess filled the ears of Jahangir due to which Jahangir asked English to leave Surat.
On 6 Feb. 1613 AD. Jahangir gave a royal order to the English that they could make a business mansion at Surat.
Sir Thomas Roy (Messanger of British King James 1) reached Surat on 18 Sept. 1615 and he meet Jahangir in January 1616 AD at Ajmer.

In 1661 AD Portuguese Prince Catherine Begaja married to Britain's Charles II and Portugal gave Bombay as Dowry to British. Charles II gave Bombay on rent of 11 pounds years to East India Company in 1668 AD.
In 1698-99 AD taking consent from Subedaar Ajimushaan Company bought the Jamindari of Sutanati, Govindpur and Kakikat in 1200 Rs from jamindaar Ibrahim Khan. Job charnok merged all these there and in 1699 made the base of Calcutta and Constructed fort William.
British East India Company is called John Company.
Father Stevenson was the first English man to come to India.
