Expansion of English in Bengal Part-2
Clive Captured Calcutta on 21 June, 1757.
On 23 June, 1757 at Murshidabad (In a village named Plassey) both the armies were up against each other. Mir jafar's so Meeran killed Siraahuddaula. After this battle the Britisher made Mir Jafar Nawab of Bengal on 28 June 1757.
A secret treaty took place between Mir Qasim and Bensi Tort on 27 Sept. 1760. According to which administration of Vardwaan, Midnapur and Chatgaanv to be handed over to the English and Mis Qasim to became Naib Subedar and Mir Zafar to Remain on his post.
After Alivardi Khan Mir Qasim was Bengal's most efficient Governor. He transferred his capital from Murshidabad to Munger.
In July, 1763 Mir Qasim was kicked out by Company and Mir Jafar was again made Governor of Bengal. Mughal Emperor Shah Alam-ll, Awadh's nawab Shujauddin's and Mir Qasim made a army against the Britisher.
In 1764 the combined army of Awadh's nawab, Mughals Emperor and Mir Qasim reached the Buxer Ground.
The English won the battle of Buxer under the supervision of Major Hector Munro. Battle of Plassey established their domination over Bengal but they came to know as Unified India Power after battle of Buxer.
In July 1765, clive did a treaty with Awadh. This treaty is also called first treaty of Allahabad. According to it, British recived Area of Kada and Allahabad along with 50 lakh rupees as penalty.
Allahabad Second treaty (16 Aug, 1765) took place between Awadh's Governor Shuja uddaula and Clive according to it xompaCo received 50 lakh rupees and fort of Chunar.
After possessing both Diwani and Nizamat, Company started dual governance in Bengal.
