REVOLT OF 1857 PART-2
On 5 June, 1857 revolt started at Kanpur. Here revolt was led by Nana Sahab (dhondhu pant), no biological son of Peshwar Baji Rao ll.
82 years old Bahadurshah with the support of Bakhtiyar Khan led to revolt.
On June 4, 1857 revolt started at Lucknow. Begurn Hajrat Mahal declared her young so Bijrij Qadir as Nawab. And attacked British residency situated at Lucknow.
On 5 June, 1856 Rani Laxmi bailed the revolt at Jhansi.
After the decline of Gwalior, Ramchandra Pandurang (Tantiya Tope) fled away to Nepal in April 1859.
There due to reason of Jamindars friends Man Singh he was caught and hanged on 18 April 1859. This event was the last events of Revolt of 1857.
At Jagdidhpur of Bihar, Jamindars Kunwar Singh waived the revolt flag during the revolt.
Prince of Sambhalpur Raj Kumar Surendra Shahi and Ujjwal Shahi led the revolt.
In Punjab 9th temporary army's Vajir Khan led the revolt from Ajnula.
Most part of South India was a peace during the Revolt. Rango'ji Bapu Gupt led the revolt from Satara.
However, Revolt of 1857 was a failure. As but it's impact lasted for the times to come. After 1857, a severe change took place in the rules and administration of Britisher.
