Union government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Khanji Kshetra( PMKKKY) for the welfare of people affected by mining related operations.
About Pradhan Mantri Khanji Kshetra Kalyan Yojana:
AIM- mitigate the adverse adverse impacts due to mining operation on the health and environment. It also seeks to ensures long term sustainable livelihoods for the affected people in mining.
OBJECTIVE: To implement various welfare and development projects in mining affected areas by complementing the existing ongoing schemes of state and central govenment, To mitigate and minimize the adverse im[pact during the and after mining of the health, environment and socio-economics of people in mining districts.
To ensure long term sustainable livelihoodsto people in areas effected by mining.
DMFSpending: 60% of the DMF's will be spent on high priority areas includin health care, education, drinking water supply, sanitation and skill development of the affected people.
Rest of the funds wil be spent upon infrastructure developmental projects such as making roads, railway, bridges, waterways projects, irrigation and alternative energy sources.
Union Ministry Of Health and Family Welfare has launched the mission Indradhanush to achieve full immunisation of children below two year,Mission Indradhansh depictts 7 colous of the rainbow which aims to cover all those children by 2020 who are either un accinated or are patially vaccinated againts 7 vaccine preventable disease. .
