Consumer Protection Act 2002

Various types of amendments were made in the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, in the year 1991 and 1993, to provide more protection to the interests of the consumer, but due to economic globalization and increase in consumerism, that amendment proved to be inadequate. Due to this, a very comprehensive revision was made by the Government of India for making this act more functional and purposeful in the year 2002. Which was fully implemented on March 15, 2003, on the World Consumers' Day all over India.

The following was the main things in the revision

Organizing the heads of the National Commission and State Commissions and conducting circuit batches.
The provision of chairmanship of the forum by the senior-most member if absent for some reason for the Chairman of the Consumer Forums.
Involvement of inappropriate goods / services in unfair trade practice.
Amendment to the jurisdiction of the Employees working at different levels.
District Forum up to 20 lakh
State Commission from 20 lakh to 1 crore
National Commission More than one crore
Establishment of Consumer Protection Council at the district level.

Order compensation amount can be recovered in the same manner by the competent agency through the certificate case. The manner in which revenue revenues are collected.

The services and items I brought for commercial purposes have been removed from the working area of ​​consumer forums.
