The Godavari River : - 

  • The origin of this river is on a small hill situated is the South - West of Nasik district of Maharastra.
  • This river flows from the Bill lake & flows towards the South - East side after flowing through the East of Maharastra Plateau.
  • This river nets divided into various streams before meeting into the Bay of Bengal & forms a large delta. This river forms a deep way crossing the Eastern Valley near Polavaram.
  • The drain area of Godavari is 3,13,389 Km.² Pravara Purna, Manapra, Penganga, Venganga, Vardha, Pranahita, Indravati, Manner & Sabassi are her major tributeries.
  • Nasik is located on the  bank of this river. The length of this river is 1,450 km.

The Krishna River :- 

  • This river originates from the streams near Mahabaleshwar at 75 km. away from the Mumbai. Then flows through Mysore, in the South East of Sangali. Then meets the river Bhima at the Eastern border of the state, & then meets enters in to the Andhra Pradesh.
  • From here, this river flows making the border of district Kurnnool, Mahboob, Nalgonda & Guntur.
  • This passes through the Rocky, narrow way of 290 km. after the confluence with Tungabhadra.
  • It gets divided into various braches & forms a large delta near Vijaywada, before meeting into the Bay of Bengal.
  • The total drain area of this river including Koyana, Ghatprabha, Malaprabha, Bhima, Tungabhadra, Music, Muner etc. is 2,58,948 km². 
  • The total length of this river is 1,290 km. Vijaywada is situated on the bank of this river.

The Kaveri River :- 

  • The  river Kaveri is called as the Ganga of the Southern India. The origin of this river is the Kurg located in the hills of Brahmagiri. There is no. Of dams constructed on this river, which are useful for the irrigation.
  • Shivsamudram & Rangapattam are two iceland of this river in Karnataka, which are believed as so much holy palaces.
  • This river comes down from the height around 100 meters near Shivasamudram in a forms of a beautiful fall. The hydroelectric power, is generated from this water fall.
  • Tanjore district is located in the delta of this river ; which is so much fertile, lush green & captivating. It is also called as the Garden of the South.
  • There is a dispute between the states of Tamil Nadu, karnatka & Puducherri for the water distribution of this river. Shringapattam is located on the bank of this river.
