Australia :-
It is the smallest continent of the world. It lies entirely in the southern Hemisphere. The Tropics of Capricorn runs almost through the middle of this continents.
It comparise Australia, Papua New Guinea Guinea, east Timor and protions of Indonesia.
Australia was discovered by Captain James Cook, and English seamen, in 1770.
An Australia lies in the Southern Hemisphere, the season of Australia are opposite to those of the Northern Hemispheres.
Most of the Australia is dry. The Eastern, North - Eastern and South Western parts of the country come in the way from sea and thus recives heavy rainfall.
The Gibson, the Simpon, the Great Victorian and the Great Sandy deserts constitutes the Great Sandy deserts constitutes the Great Australian Deserts.
The highest peak of the Australia is Mt. Koscuisko (2,228 m).
Australia is mainly an agriculture country. Wheat is the most important food crop. A variety of fruits both template and tropical, are also grown.
Australia has considerable minerals wealth. It has large reserves of coal, iron ore, Bauxite, managanese and tin. Some petroleum and natural gas is also found.
Australia makes several products from it's agriculture and animals raw materials. They are cotton and wollen textiles, sugar, condensed and powered milk, butter, cheese and meat.
Australia has the largest number of sheep in the world. Merino is the most important breed of wool producing sheep.
Great Barrier Reef :- It is the world longest coral reef. It is located in the N. E. of Australia.
The Australian states in decreasing order of population is New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia.
The largest state of Australia is Western Australia.
Australia stands for Australia and New Zealand.
Largest lakes of Australia is Eyre.
The biggest city of New Zealand is Auckland, while the capital is Wellington.
The first Europeans to discover New Zealand was Abel Tasman.
The Highest peak of New Zealand is Mt. Cook (3,754 ) m. The chief farming region is New Zealand is Canterbury Plain. New Zealand generates 7% it's energy from Geo thermal spring.
