Indra Navy 18 bilateral Naval exercise between India and Russia concluded on 16th December 2018 it was 4 day Maritime exercise that took place in the Bay of Bengal Indira Navy Air India Russia Navy exercise is being conducted since 2003 the first edition of this exercise was conducted in 2013 in India
About Indira Navy 2018 ::-
10 warships from both side participated in the Indira Navy 2018 exercise which also included in Indian navy submarine. The exercise included search and seed drills underway replenishment at sea drills and anti submarine Warfare drills along with other components the neighbours of India and Russia also conducted live rings against aerial target in the exercise. The Russian navy Pacific Fleet Flagship Varyag participated in Indira Navy 2018 Admiral Panteleyev which is anti submarine Warfare ships and Boris Butoma which is seat anchor also wear included by Russia in the exercise. INS Ranvir INS Satpura INS Kadmatt INShips Kuthar and Khanjar and INS Jyoti participated from Indian side the primary objective of Indra Navy exercise is to increase inter operability against the Navies of India and Russia and exchange best practices. India and Russia major defence partners and India is also a major importer of Russian defence equipment both the side conduct regular exercise with each other the last edition of Indrani we took place in 2016 in the Bay of Bengal the main goal behind conducting a such bilateral military exercise is the strength in a friendly relation between the armed force of India and Russia
