Governor :-
The Governor plays a double role. As a central government representative and as a constitutional head of the state.
Article 153 :-
There will be a Governor in each state.
Article 154 :-
the Governor has Hotel Executive powers of the state. These powers are used by the Governor or governors officials.
Article 155 :-
The governor is appointed by the president.
Article 156 :-
Term - generally 5 years but actually till the president exordium throughout.
Resignation :-
Send to the president.
Article 157 :-
Should be the Indian citizen and should have crossed 35 years of age.
Article 158 :-
Governor of the state has been disqualified because he should not be on advantages post.
Article 159 :-
The oath :-
The Oath taking to the Governor is worn by the High Court Chief Justice.

Executive power :-
- As per article 166, all the functions of state are operated under the name of the Governor.
- the Chief Minister, ministers, advocates, Public Commissioner, the Chairman and the members of State Public Service Commission, commissioner of the state election commission,the chairman of state finance commission and voice chancellor of the universities in the state are appointed by the state governor.
- The Governor can get the information about the state administration from the Chief Minister under article 167.
Legislative power :-
- Under article 168 the Governor is the factor of the state legislature that is the state legislature is formed by the Governor the legislative assembly and the Legislative Council together.
- Under article 213 , the Governor is authorised to issue the ordinance with the state legislature is not in the session.
- Under article 192, the eligibility of members of state legislature is determined by the Governor with election commissioner's advice.
Financial power :-
- all the financial bills are put in the Legislative Assembly with the full consent of the Governor.
- The state budget is presented in the name of governor.
- The state contingency fund is under the control of governor.
Judicial power :-
- the Governor can provide the mitigation of punishment to any criminal under article 161, but he / she cannot pardon the criminal totally .
- Advice is taken from the Governor in the appointment of judges of High Court.
- The district judges are appointed by the Governor.
Sole discretion power :-
- Governor in forms the president about the failure of the constitutional system in the state.
- the governor of North Eastern states are provided special authority's for the states development.
- under article 200 the Governor can Reserve any bill for the president, which is passed by the state legislature.
