Describe about the 'Bloomberg Billionaires Index 2018'?

As many as 24 Indians feature in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index 2018 of the world's 500 richest people. As per the Index, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani is the richest person in India with a net worth of $ 38 billion.

Globally, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos has dominated the index by securing the top rank with a net worth $121 billion, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are placed at second and third spot with a net worth of $90.4 billion and $85 billion respectively.

Alibaba's Jack Ma is Asia's richest person with $47.2 billion net worth followed by Tencent co-founder and CEO Pony Ma with $41.1 billion net worth. The Index has data of the top industrialists net worth as of April 2, 2018. 

Here are the five Indians who feature in the top 100.

Mukesh Ambani :

                     The country's richest person controls 40 per cent of RIL, world's largest oil refinding complex. He features at the 19th spot in the 2018 Bloomberg Billionaires Index. However, in terms of YTD or year-to-dete change, Ambani had lost a total of $2.30 billion, data shared by the index showed.

Lakshmi Mittal :

                  He is the chairman and largest shareholder of ArcelorMittal. The Luxembourg-based company has mining, energy and refining operations in 60 countries and hgad revenue of $56.8 billion in 2016. He features at the 54th spot with $18.5 billion net worth. He lost around $1.16 billion from hes net worth.

Pallonji Mistry :

                     With a net worth of $16.8 billion, Pallonji Mistry and his family owns 18.5 per cent of Tata sons. he is ranked at the 65th position in the index and lost $575 million from his net worth.

Azim Premji :

                  The chairman and larget shareholder of IT firm Wipro is placed at the 71st position. He owns 56 per cent of the Bangalore-based business after transferring more than $4 billion worh of shares to his foundation and private-equity fund PremjiInvest, which manages about $1 Billion after losing $1.71 billion.

Shiv Nadar :

            The founder and majority shareholder of HCL Technologies is ranked 86th in the Index with a net worth of $14.5 billion. His total net worth grew by $611 million. HCL Technologies had revenue of $7 Billion in the year to Mach 31, 2017.
