4.कुछ ऐसे शब्द है जिनका प्रयोग होने पर past में समाप्त हो चुके पहुंच गए कार्य का बोध होता है, इसीलिए वाक्य को past indefinite tense में लिखते हैं।
*Past का समय /past की घटना
*Yesterday, ago, the previous day , the day before, at that time
Example: he went there in 2001 .
I played cricket yesterday.
5. यदि sentence में last/past को दर्शाने वाला शब्द लिखा हुआ है तो past indefinite का प्रयोग करते हैं परंतु last/past+ समय को दर्शाने वाले शब्द के पहले since/for/during लिखा हुआ है तो present perfect या perfect continuous tense का प्रयोग करते हैं।
Ex. He played cricket last week.
He has been living here since last month.
6.It is time/ it is high time /it is about time /it is opportunate time के बाद लिखे हुए sentence की verb को past indefinite tense में प्रयोग करते हैं।
जबकि--- it first time/ it is the best time/ it is wrost /it is second time के बाद लिखे हुए sentence की verb को present perfect में प्रयोग करते हैं।
Ex: it is time we went there.
It is the first time we have gone there.
It is the best dinner that I have ever taken.
7. Would rather/would better/would sooner के बाद लिखे हुए sentence में verb को past indefinite में लिखते हैं।
Ex: I would rather I played cricket.
You would better you went there.
8. यदि दो sentence को since (conjuction of time) से जोड़ा गया है जिसमें since का मतलब जब से / तब से निकल रहा हो तो since के पहले आने वाला sentence present perfect में होता है जबकि since के बाद आने वाला sentence past indefinite tense में लिखा जाता है।
Ex: I have watched this movie thrice since I heard about it.
