Digital India: Another programme linked to youth empowerment is the Digital India campaign.Launched by the Government of India, it aims to ensure that the Government's services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet onnectivity or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. The initiative includes connecting rural areas with high-speed
internet networks. Digital India consists of three core components: the development of secure and stable digital infrastructure, delivering government
services digitally, and universal digital literacy. Digital India is a Programme to
prepare India for a knowledge future. The aim is to prepare India for the knowledge based transformation and delivering good governance to citizens by synchronized
and coordinated engagement with both Central Government and State Government. Digital empowerment of citizens will pay emphasis on universal digital literacy and availability of digital
resources/services in Indian languages. The overall goal is to make every household digitally literate to make India the Global Knowledge hub, with IT being
a major driver and engine of growth.
