Gramya Vikas Nidhi: Promotion of off-farm sector assumes significance for the overall development of rural areas. Off-farm sector has the ability and potential to offer additional employment and income to farmers and others in rural areas. In 2014, NABA jointly with Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (NABARD-SDC) had created Rural Innovation Fund to support innovative and risk friendly experiments in farm, non-farm and microfinance sectors that would have the potential to promote livelihood opportunities and employment in rural areas. After the expiry of RIF another fund in the name of "Gramya Vikas Nidhi"
was introduced during the year 2016-17 by NABARD for supporting promotional activities under off-farm sector activities. Various components of the Gram Vikas Nidhi are entrepreneurial culture, innovation capacity building, development and promotion of clusters and livelihood options.
