Exclamatory sentences

Definition: The sentences which express some sudden feelings in mind as joy, sorrow, surprise, suspension , applause, wonder etc. are called exclamatory sentences.

Eg.

  1. He said, Alas! I am ruined.
  2. The players said, Hurrah! The cup is ours.
  3. She said, what a horrible sight it is!
  4. He said, how weak you are!

👍There are two structure in this kind of sentences

👉 Use of  'How,

 How + adjective + sub.+verb
  1.  How weak he is!
  2. How beautiful scene is!

👉 Use of  'What a,

What a + adjective + noun + sub +Verb
  1. What a clever boy you are!
  2. What a horrible sight it is!

👌Note :  what a, comes when adjective and noun  come together.

👉  Eg. No. 1 'clever, is adjective and boy is noun

Eg. No. 2 horrible is adjective and sight is noun.
